Montreal is wonderful place. I was born in Chateauguay, but it's in the region of Montreal.
This city is popular because of the night life. A lot of people come here for touristic places, but they can never leave if they dont go to the clubs. 
First of all, the area of St-Laurent is one of the most popular district for the nightlife. There is the best dance clubs, bars. The second famous area is Rue Crescent. There is a lot of young people trying to get in, but they are always busted. The night life in montreal is so popular that every one wants to live it.
In second, one of the most popular place is the Bell Center. When there is a montreal hockey game, the streets are full of people. A lot of tourists come from all over the country to see them play. Even americans come when their them are plyaing in our city, Montreal. There is a sad thing, and its that when the canadians win, some people get crazy and they start getting wild!
There is always a positive thing to every bad thing. A lot of famous people already came to the Bell Center. Every month, there is at least 3 shows from popular artists. Per exemple, Britney Spears, Madonna, Lady gaga, Eminem, Lil wayne and many other artists came. Even if there is a long waiting line outside, some people go there 4 hours before the show to wait in line and get in the as fast as possible.
Also there is a lot of events at the bell center. This is why everyone knows that place and every tourist goes there just to take pictures.
In third, there is my favourite place. Montreal is a big city and its known from everyone in every country. So there must be a lot of shops. I like this part of the city because shopping is one of my favourite things.
The eaton center is one of most famous shopping center. There is 5 floors with more than 175 stores in it. There are stores for every kind of person. Also, from the eaton center you can pass directly to montreal trust and complexe les ailes. In one day, you wont even have time to go in every store. So, in total with those shopping centers, you can find more than 220 stores! Also, dont forget that there is a lot of stores outside the building. This is why i always go shopping there and I always see tourists and people from other ethnicities.
In fourth, the thing that contributes to montreal is the mont-royal. There is a beautiful view on Montreal. From there, you can see all the buildings, houses, schools and LaRonde. LaRonde is in the family of the Six flags. You can find more than 40 rides and attractions designed for every one, from young kids to adults. Also, it isnt a place where there is only rides and attractions.
At night, sometimes there is fireworks and some bands come there to play their music.
Also, for 2 days, there is a camping in LaRonde. You can bring your caravane and camp there. Those are the 5 most places to visit in Montreal that will make you enjoy your week over here.
To finish this, there is one more thing to say. Montreal is open to everyone. You will always find someone that will want to talk to you. It is also a multicultural city, so you can find people from every where around the world. If you want to live a new experience, come to Montreal.
